I have been researching the Jessops, into whom we have married, as it were, and am delighted to discover some gems amongst them. Apart from the admirable and much beloved Simon Charles, I have felt myself particualrly drawn to Clytie Jessop, of whom Wikipedia tells us:

Clytie Jessop is a British actress, notable for her association with cinematographer and film director Freddie Francis.

Her first screen role was as the ghost of Miss Jessel in The Innocents (1961), based on Henry James's The Turn of the Screw. She appeared only in long shot. Francis had been cinematographer for The Innocents; he later directed Jessop in two minor horror roles for Hammer and Amicus, respectively: Nightmare (1964) and Torture Garden (1967).

Feeling some affinity with Clytie (being rather a long-shot actor myself and knowing that my son-in-law is also that way inclined) I went on to find the Jessop coat-of-arms, a decent-looking coat, I think, with good colours (though the stars seem a little brutalist):


However, imagine my joy on discovering that a slip of the typing finger had led me to a section on fingering techniques in tai-chi. A noble art form, for which I have the highest regard, it betrays here a somewhat analist approach to fingering, I believe, and I'm certain that it is an approach that will endear itself to my filthy son-in-law on his birthday:



I leave it to you to discern whether the author is right in suggesting that the names are indeed easy to learn but the techniques difficult to apply. In any case, I should appreciate a demonstration of "shoot goose palm" but perhaps not 'sticky finger' over the Easter festivities.

Decades ago I discovered a cure for mental health problems. The cure, which I term the Kadir-Buxton Method, has been used on a wide variety of mental health problems. The procedure stuns and resets the brain of the patient, so that the patient returns to a normal condition. The Kadir-Buxton Method is done by making a fist of both hands, and striking both ears of the patient at exactly the same time and pressure with the soft part of the inner hand which is where the thumb joins the hand. The arrow in Figure 1 shows this point for your ease of use.




The procedure is painless and the patient regains consciousness faster the less hard the double blow is struck. With practice, I am able to render the patients unconscious for only thirty seconds. Other individuals have faired even better.
